Black Belt Day September 2009

Students, Parents, and Friends:

Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 12:00 noon will mark our annual "TKD Jidokwan Black Belt Day". This annual event will be hosted by Grandmaster Miller and his daughter, Chief Instructor Caitlyn A. Gomez. Ms Gomez will be testing for her 2nd Dan which was recommended last fall. All present and past Black Belts are encouraged to atend this event. Ms Jannet Cortez will also be testing for her Red Belt. Both of these Mixed Martial Artists have proven they are more than ready to display their skills, and have been training and mentoring other students within the Antelope Valley TKD Jidokwan system. The sitting board for this event will include Grandmaster Miller-7th Dan, Isaura Barillas-2nd Dan, Stephanie Yanez-2nd Dan, and Tito Yanez-1st Dan.

Student Highlights

Ms. Barillas is currently a full time student at Antelope Valley College studying business, and studied TKD Jidokwan in the Antelope Valley. Additionally, she trains with Team 3-D, and Young Champions Karate Studios.

Ms. Yanez is a Senior Coordinator for the "Dr. Phil Show" and "Doctors" on CBS, and graduated from Pasadena City College, and studied TKD Jidokwan in the San Gabriel Valley. Furthermore, she was recently promoted to Chief Instructor at TKD Ji Do Kwan Studios

Mr. Yanez is serving with the armed forces stationed out of Camp Pendleton, San Diego CA as a USMC Lance Corporal, and studied TKD Jidokwan in the San Gabriel Valley.

  1. it was a great and memorable day i will remember this day as long as i live and will never forgot the discipline it took me to get to second degree black belt but if i could i would do it all over and aging. It is my pride and joy in my life to be involved with something like this and i will always carry on the skills i have learned and teach it to generations to come.
